The Manhattanization of Las Vegas has brought to light the value of land. As the Las Vegas valley projects the depletion of land in the valley proper, more projections for upward building are evident. Residential and office space will likely become much more popular and necessary in the future.
Well, how about food production? There have been discussions and designs for verticle farming. Self sustaining crop buildings will make use of technology to capture sun, reuse water, and regulate crop cycles for optimal growth. Today, the price of establishing a facility of this nature may be too great. However, the designs are getting better and we're not too far off.
