Our hearts reach out to those in New Orleans and the surrounding areas. In wake of Hurricane Katrina thousands of residents of the south are stranded and without necessities. Many await food and medicine. As help arrives people are desperate for recourse.
Many Las Vegans have opened their hearts and homes. Victims have been allowed to stay in homes and hotels and have received money and food from many. Military and civilian workers have been dispatched to provide additional aid.
Yet, as experts look forward hundreds of thousands of residents will be without immediate employment. Las Vegas among other key cities will become an option for families forced to relocate because of available jobs. Las Vegans will be able to provide ongoing assistance to many families.
